Permachrome,for rims. Is it better than chrome?

Been seeing alot on the net about Permachrome coatings . Does anyone know much abut it .Is it better than chrome ? Will it hold up better? or is it like a paint,and will it scratch ? There are some different companies with this coating But they all seem to use ,about the same process .

those do look really nice! i could bet my factory wheels would look nice with that black chrome! wish i knew a place to do it.
