Found this one at the Ottawa Kenny U-Pull this weekend. It is fairly complete, all major components are still there, doors seemed to be in good condition, missing rear license pocket/tailgate handle. I took the windshield washer nozzles, the driver's side mirror glass, the front license plate holder and the tailgate inside panel. All that for $13 and change!

This truck actually looked like it was in reasonably good condition so I have a feeling that it may have suffered a major mechanical failure, either the engine or tranny.

And for those that don't know Kenny U-PULL - Homepage

I'm thinking of going back to get the back glass since my rear defroster's grids are mostly crap. For $15, it's cheaper than grid repair paint!

Thanks moose. No i want to go ransack the TB's at the local salvage yard. So far I have picked up a wheel, sunvisors, cup holder inserts (one got thrown away already), a new mirror and a new interior mirror. I want a spare set of wheels maybe I can get them to cut me a deal.

I need a new exhaust for mine eventually .... and I went to look at that same truck at Kenny's too bad it was an EXT and not the standard wheelbase :sadcry:.

I had pictures to post ... but you beat me to it.

Wow I want a U Pull in Newfoundland. Those prices are crazy! What a great idea for the DIY'ers. I hate going to the salvage yards and paying some gross price for a part I know their never going to sell that takes 30secs with a flatblade screw driver to remove.
Rear Glass = $14.99!!!!!
I had mine replaced (insurance job) in a SWB Envoy and the bill was $1600.

The C4C on the rear quarter panel stands for Cash for Clunkers program. The engine had to be seized as part of the program.

HUH...I thought that all the C4C's had to be crushed,I remember seeing a news clip of people trying to rip parts off as they were heading for the crusher...Mike.

The salvage or scrap facility which acquires the vehicle cannot sell the engine, cylinder heads or a "rolling chassis" from the scrap vehicle. The salvage or scrap facility can sell any other component (including the transmission and axles) from the scrap vehicle separately and may dismantle and warehouse the parts.

I doubt very much it was from the US as the Titley dealer sticker was from Alexandria Ontario. We don't have a government C4C program here except donation of clunkers to the Kidney Foundation for a tax receipt. And GM has a CASH FOR CLUNKERS program, basically a trade in program.

It is sad that vehicles like these are being scrapped in the name of the environment. Mine is older, had a knocking engine and in worse shape than this one. It's now a solid truck but it did need a lot of TLC. A real clunker is a total basket case spewing blue smoke and parts falling off on the highway.

I'll pull them anyway if I get a chance next weekend.

BTW, looked up the C4C on Youtube. Fucking insane!

What a wasteful society we live in,Cuba would be running those vehicles for another 50 years:frown:

I will try to leave politics out of it. The program was a huge waste of money, it removed working vehicles from the market that could have gone to needy families. Instead under the guise of creating artificial market value for vehicles and removing hundreds of thousands of perfectly good vehicles from the market for the sake of "helping" the environment.

I would take either the Trans or Camaro a little TLC and they would be good.

It's a bloody shame. Some of what I saw
Corvette
Jaguar
Impala SS
2 BMW's
Mazarati
Camaros
Trans-Ams
Volvos
Fords (they were clunkers in the showroom )
Tons of SUV's and pickups

The vast majority were good working vehicles. I really cried at the Impala SS as it is my dream car. I hate government  :hissyfit::no::crazy::confused::worried::eyebrowhuh::sadcry::weird::yikes::stars::faint::uhno::badday:

There you go .. Get the emblems and put them on the truck and then claim that it was a special edition only to Newfoundland :wootwoot::wootwoot:

Hey Mooseman!
Even though it's the wrong color for your truck, grab that rear plastic valance too! (Has the third brake light in it.)

Snow/Ice builds up in the gap and it will break off when you open the rear hatch. Apparantly it's common to our platform.
(Although currently it's +7 degrees celcius and there is no snow in sight while we break high temperature records almost every day in November.)

Mine broke off last fall and the CDN dealerships wanted over $700 for a new one.
I found one in Brampton on kijiji for ~$400.

Grab that valance and tuck it away. You never know when your gonna need one.

Good point G...

The more I think about it, the more this might be worthy of a road trip...
I know that there's gotta be a load of parts in that yard that I could grab as spares for Canyonaro...

Just grabbing the fog lights would almost be worth the drive (around 4 hours for me)... :undecided:

Went today to get the rear glass and the hinge pins were rusted solid. I didn't have a hammer and punch so I'll have to go back. I actually found the rear hatch handle/license pocket on the roof. I took the fogs (for CdnGMan), horns (for my son's Honda), throttle body and PCM. I want to play around with porting the TB and the spare PCM in case I'd like to get mine tuned again or if I'd like to remind myself what the stock tune felt like :puke:.

I did try to turn the engine and it's not seized so not sure what the deal is one the C4C.

Hey Mooseman - what is the interior colour on that beast? I can think of at least one interior part I could use if the colour is right.

Mooseman, if you head back down a pic of the RPO codes might help a few people out. Just a thought.

The interior is grey. PM me what you're looking for and I'll let you know. I don't know when the next time I might go but if I can work it into my schedule, I won't mind.

I went again today, the hinge pins just don't want to come out . No room for a hacksaw and we're not allowed to use any kind of grinder in the yard so no Dremel.

I just saw your post now. Good idea. If I do so again, I'll see if I can get it but I think the glove box door is gone.

The fogs I asked Moose to grab for me came in today - it only took 3 days too!!

They're in fantastic condition too!!

View attachment 25482

View attachment 25483

And they came with something I totally wasn't expecting: bulbs!!

View attachment 25484

Now I have no idea if they work, but there's no reason to suggest that they shouldn't - everything was packed neat & tight...

Thanks again Moose!!! You totally rock!!

PS. I totally need to hit up the wreckers near me to see if there's any jewels to be found...

Hey, no prob. Took all of 10 minutes to remove and a bit more to ship. And dirt cheap too. I got hit up for a few more parts and grabbed some spares for myself at the same time.

BTW, anybody wanting to look up this truck for something, it's GONE! I went last weekend and it wasn't there. I'm surprised as it still had all the major components such as the engine block, tranny, transfer case and diffs. Oh well. But, the Bravada is still there:
