So everyone who helps out here definitely appreciate it and the ones from the other site helped out a lot but I'm getting a gas smell but doesn't have a leak just started a cpl wks ago. #2 I cleaned my throttle body checked my plugs the plug well were up to the top with oil how hard and what do I need to take off to change the valve cover gasket? And it felt like the car was gonna stall at idle after I checked it us it due to the oil but it wasn't acting like that before I checked. And #3 sorry its a lot my oil pressure gauge goes to 0when I'm stopped goes up and down till I hit the gas than is normal if someone can help thank you. I have a video of the gauge when it does it.

Is the gas smell coming from the engine compartment or exhaust, somewhere else? As to the plug wells, are you torquing the spark plugs to specification? You are running ACDelco 41-103 spark plugs, right? Make sure your fluid levels are topped off. Make sure your air filter isn't clogged. Did you try resetting the PCM?

The oil gauge on these trucks is nothing more than an idiot light, so if you haven't installed your own that reads the pressure directly you can ignore it.

For the oil in the plug wells, try re-torquing the valve cover and ignition coil bolts first in case this might help. Replacing the valve cover gasket is a little involved with the removal of all the other stuff to get to it such as the air box, throttle body and intake manifold.

The low oil pressure may be related to the bad idle you're suffering from. What does the tach say when the oil pressure goes down? If RPM is getting low, the low oil pressure could be a symptom of that. Fix the idle first and recheck. If it's still going low, try changing the oil pressure sender/switch as it is know to fail.

Gas smell, check for leaks. Yours isn't an EXT by any chance? This model had a defective original tank at the filler neck fracturing. And as suggested, if all else checks out, the fuel pressure regulator could be suspect.

After cleaning the throttle, you did disconnect the battery for at least 30 minutes to reset the PCM?

Its been raining since the gas smell it looks like the front of the tank has condensation but not sure yet but not dripping no its the ltz swb. The smell comes from in between drivers side doors. The oil pressure my rpms stay at about 600 I idnt see what plugs are in it I didn't have time to get all the oil out didn't want to pull them with that in there I will try emptying them and making sure there torqued correct and I in did the battery while I cleaned it and checked everything so it was for about an hr I definitely appreciate the help everyone

Figuring you know to use a turkey baster then a paper towel... don't worry about getting every last drop out, though.

The fuel filter is around that area so either it or the hoses could be leaking.
