If you look at where the picture is hosted, it's clear I did it. We don't talk about it much in public, because trailvoy asshats lurk here and go home to tattle to the admins.
But basically, if you control where any picture is hosted, but don't control the site that links to it, you can replace the contents of an image with something of your own choosing, using the original name. I did that to some of my popular images, but not all. If trailvoy goes in and edits the original posts to not link to my "new" images, that's a lot of manual work. They are FAR too lazy to do that. And if they change the links to a few of my old images, I have THOUSANDS more, all hosted at roadie.org. One could even write code to check to see the referring site, and change the content if the link is from a place you want to prank, like trailvoy.
I didn't anticipate ever having a falling out with the owners of trailvoy when I started posting in 2004, but hosting your own images is always useful if you want to take your ball and go home.
