Need guidance in programming a new BCM...

I'm using the VXDiag VCX NANO USB Interface for GM. I'm a little confused about programming a new BCM.

How does the new BCM know the VIN of the old BCM? Are you prompted to enter the old BCM's VIN during programming?

Do all new BCM's use a general standard software that is flashed onto it via SPS on https://www.acdelcotds.com/subscriptions# ?

It will either ask you for the VIN or confirm the one it pulled from the PCM. It may also ask for the different options your vehicle has or even allow you to.enable some you don't have.
