mods for a 2.9

looking for some ideas for performance mods for a 2008 chevy colorado 5spd 2.9l. it has straight pipes for now (getting a borla muffler) a 3/4 drop, lambo doors (not my truck) after that this is what i have planned. any other suggestions would be helpful. my brother is a noob when it comes to performance upgrades!

I put a Nitro tuner box in my 2.9 and it made a big difference. I'm sure it's not the optimum tune but it's only $20. Plugs right into the DLC under the steering column. I had previously bought a Diablo and tried a couple of their tunes but they weren't any better than the little yellow Nitro.
