I like the new look, she looks so much meaner. after alotta seaching I understand a rough ride is expected but is there anything I could do to make it better, it feels and sounds like I'm going to break something, even on the small bump's. on the big one's (OMG) I pause for a second to see if she's still drivable, I really don't like that. so much I'm really thinking about taking it back off...:undecided:

Remind me again what components got changed?

New shocks will always give you a stiffer jolt over bumps. If anything rattles or makes a noise, that's a separate problem. Not specifically caused by the lift - just the new shocks or something not tightened properly during the install.

If you didn't change your springs, then you actually don't have any difference in spring rate and you will have the same amount of dive when you brake, etc.

Did you get an alignment after the lift? A lift changes toe-in, and perhaps what you're feeling is bump steer or a side effect of the too-little toe-in?

I hope you added the lift for something other than pure appearance.

I did get new springs and of coarse new shock's, I haven't got an alignment yet though (friday or saturday) only because I was told I need a drivers side tie rod too. so all that will get done this weekend. as for offroading I do plan on doing some light stuff "one day" until I get more comfortable doing it.

I am glad that our "Easy Day" while at the Michigan Meet last year didn't scare you away from lifting . The truck looks great! It sounds like you replaced all that you needed to, I am not familiar with the springs so I can't speak on those but a rougher ride is expected, but it will feel normal after a couple of weeks driving.

If you messed with the sway bar end links at all recheck them. If they are even a teensy bit loose they can sound like your whole front end is falling off.

Your talking about sounds, if the sway bars are loose the will rattle and make noice, they will not however make a rough ride like she is describing!

weren't we figuring those springs were about equivalent to 88s? That sounds vaguely familiar. If that's the case she may just be topping out the shock. This is of course assuming everything is tight.

thank you guy's for all your help, when I take it in to get it fixed, I'll be sure to ask if everything is tight and no other parts are suspect to cause a problem. how would find out if the shock is topping out and why would a new shock top out?
