Identitfying transmission deep pan or shallow pan

No. There will be some left in the torque converter and a bit in the valve body. There will also be quite a bit at the bottom of the pan but that you'll get out when you pull the pan.

Oh, if you use this method, be sure to have someone hold the hose in the bucket or secure it there. Ask me how I know...

It does drain like 95% of it. There will always be a little left in there but it does get most of it out, converter included. When I did it I had barely anything left in the bottom of the pan, which was nice.

I came across this information, thought it might be usefull here. This is referring to the "Dorman Transmission Oil Pan 265-811"
