Hard Steering Wheel to the Right only

When I turn the wheel to the right (passenger) side, very tight, almost like I have no power steering. Turning to the Left (Driver) side is fine. Is this a sign of the rack going? Should I flush the power steering unit? No visible leaks on the ground. The reservoir is full, fluid is not burnt in color.

Thanks

How many miles? Any other maintenance history?

I'd say you need a reman rack, yes. Flush the fluid first as an experiment if you're over 100K and didn't do it when it was due, but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

69,700 miles. Just replaced upper ball joints. Just checked fluid again and it light brown in color, so it is burnt. Been running strong. I have a good mechanic, going to give him a call. Is it better to replace the rack or try and replace the seals with a kit?

I just bought the seal kit to try and stop my leak because the function is fine. Glad you got it done quickly. Hopefully it goes as easy for me.

I bought the Cardone Select Rack and Pinion for $380.00. This was a new unit, not remanufactured.
