Which filter did you end up going with to replace the K&N?

going with the 2084; that and a cleaning kit for $55.68 with the 10% off

I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work. If they had a factory replacement for my cavalier I would of grabbed one for that too. I looked at the ones you can get color matched (well they send them undyed with oil colored to match what you want) but didn't see the same size there or I would of got a red one.

Also checked out the clearance stuff, a lot of 6" filters if anyone has some use for those. https://www.greenfilterusa.com/store/clearance-overstock/C-001002 is 3.75" ID and only $25.15 if someone wants to try it. (I thought about just getting a piece of 3"ID rubber hose and using it as an adapter)

I was looking at 2084 myself. You will have to let us know how it fits.

Ok, 2048 fits.. But there are some minor issues.
The lip is smaller than the k&n which normally wouldn't be a big deal

The metal hai has a slight taper so the filter wants to pop off the end of you can't slide it past the taper. The washer reservoir stops you from moving it high enough.

The rings on the pipe are where the k&n clamp goes. Now, this isn't really a big deal at all, you just have to lift the pipe about 3/4" and push the filter up higher. I also loosened the clamp at the intake to let the pipe adjust a bit. I don't think there is enough pressure from the reservoir to deform the filter or create a leak, or rub a hole in either one.

Really this is just a long way off saying it fit fine and looks good.

Thanks for posting your review. Looks like 2084 is the one I will be getting here shortly.

Mine is exactly like stock. No taper.y

Right because he is running a k&n intake and you're running the stock intake, so u can just use green filter's direct replacement for the ac delco filter and expect it to fit correctly, right?

Bingo jack.

I gutted my air box n cut most of front open. Still want to swap resonator for a reg tube.

The images disappeared, so I am reposting

Is the end cap of the filter solid stainless steel or is it open on the end with filter material? Looks like you will have more filter media to draw air through. I will be investing soon. Thanks for the feed back sir

the end is stainless, looks pretty good actually

Just ordered 2084 and the cleaner kit. They offer free shipping, but the discount code is no longer valid.:hissyfit:

I've had to clean the MAF sensor 4 times and clear "lean bank 1" codes from oil (i assume it's filter oil) I'm hoping this is the last time I have to clean it

Interesting. I have never had to clean or had a code in 50k miles.

Don't use so much filter oil.

I have had to clean mine twice but I have never had any codes. I have had mine for going on 30k, my TB clocks about 580-700 miles a month depending on which town we go shopping in, it also is only on a paved road twice a month, once for fuel pick up and once for shopping.

Had to clean the MAF again today. I think I'm gonna have to look at replacing the sensor and maybe the o2. Been getting like 13 mpg, way down from the 16/17 I was getting

Go with an AEM pro-dry

If it doesn't stop fouling the MAF sensor I might have to. I do have the cleaning kit for it, maybe I'll clean it and re-oil it a bit lighter and see if that helps any.
