State law limits you to only 2 reverse lamps. Not that anyone actually enforces it or cares.
 
Nice man!! :thumbsup:I wish the voy had headlight covers that I can color match like that! Would be cool :frown:

our lifts are against the law technically ...


Looks really good. I need to stop by and see the headlight covets.

Now to eleminate the yellow lights.....switchback LEDs and something with corner markers coming soon....

Don't Grand Am's come with 4 reverse lights? 2 round ones in the bumper and 1 in each taillight?
 
interesting color choice for the inlay's.. looks like the color matched covers are a bit dull? maybe just the reflection in the pics... nice little list of mods though :thumbsup:, im sure the bug is full "for now":crackup:

I think so, but don't recall seeing anything ever illuminated. There must be special exceptions for vehicles that comply with U.S. code.

Like the inlays on the fence about the covers, I seem to be the only guy thats in love with the stock lights they are sexyyy. lol Have you done your rear bag adjustment yet easy FREE mod

i love the lights as well, which is why mine are tinted and i just ordered all my LED's... im leaving them in there.. no aftermarket for me lol
 
Not crazy about the rear covers. They were cheap and trying it for a bit at least. Want to do aftermarket lights or paint part of the stock ones body color. Thinking about painting the inside of the stock lights body color too and remove front covers.
 
To be honest I personally do not like the covers!! at least those specific ones do not look very good. I hate how there are bars running across the light, doesn't make sense to me. If you want you can color match a pair of these

Or if you want no covers, tape off where the light goes through and color match the rest of the light! :yes: that would prob look the cleanest without a cover but a cover is good if you want to go back to stock!

My friends wife has an 04 that has them (bumper and tailights)

Tape off where the lights shine through when you brake, signal reverse etc. Then just clean them. wet sand them (2000 grit) and then paint them. I would prob use about 3-6 coats depending on how heavy each coat is (which I wouldn't go too heavy so you do not get drips) and then clear coat them after about 3-6 coats also and you should be good from there.

Or if you want to go a easier way without taping off then you can get those chrome covers I put up and sand those down with a heavier sand paper at first to rough them up and then go to the 2000 grit and paint and clear coat also. After that put them on and see how they look! If you ever want to go back to stock you just take the covers off. They are with 3m tape I believe.

I want to paint them so I will go with option 1. You mean wet send? What does this mean?

There is sand paper that can be dry or wet sand. wet sand is pretty much dip the sand paper in water and sand the surface. That usually works out good so you do not get starches on your lights from the sand paper! They come out pretty smooth also!

Aftermarket HID installations in non-HID compliant housings are also illegal... but ditto.

Wow I feel stupid... :reface: Well thank you I may get this done this weekend. I need to touch up some places as well
