Factory radio acting goofy

Our factory radio two days ago quit working.

When the vehicle is off, the red antitheft LED in the radio is blinking. You can press a button and get the clock to come on with the current time. Pressing the eject button gets the CD player to eject the disk that is in it.

When the truck is on, the radio display is completely blank, and all lights are off. You can get the clock to come on by pressing a button (for a few seconds). Once again, the red antitheft LED is blinking. The power button does nothing.

We bought the truck used, and I never set the antitheft code in the radio. It has been disconnected once (two years ago!) when I installed an aftermarket iPOD dock that interfaces digitally with the radio.

Anyone have any idea what is going on here?

There is no anti-theft code for the radio, so don't worry about not setting one.

Sounds like a coms problem with the data bus to me. Your best bet, if you want to really know what's going on is to try and get a Tech II on it and see if it's communicating.

I'm sorry that that's all I can offer in advice.

I would first suspect the Aftermarket add-on Dock, it may have failed and affected the vehicle. When you say "interfaces digitally" it could have affected the Databus as Matt surmised.

The radio is behaving as if the truck is off, Only other thought is a fuse.
