Good day, I have a 2002 Envoy SLE, this is the first in this line of SUV's that I have owned and thought it strange that I have not seen any other comments about this issue. When I turn on my key to the run position, none of the gauges, lights or accessories work as I have noticed in all other vehicles I have owned. nothing actually works until you start the truck then everything functions as it should. The windows don't even work with just the key on.... Is this a normal thing for these vehicles or is something actually wrong with my unit?

First click forward does nothing, second click is RUN as you've noticed.
Turn it one click backwards and it goes in accessory mode (radio, windows, etc, but no gauges or climate control).
This was standard function for GM for many years. For some reason I cannot remember if my Silverado operates this way still or not

so.... my Envoy is correct in that nothing works until the engine is actually running i.e. gauges, dash lights, windows.....
ok, I thought it was strange. It was this way when I got it and because I was told it was garage kept and in GREAT shape, I thought that it was just that way for this platform vehicle.
You were so so so correct. I found the 3 amp fuse removed.the accessory relay has been removed ....
