My driver door lock doesn't toggle with keyfob, have to manually select it. What's the exact part that I need, is it the actuator itself or most likely a wire?

So the drivers door doesn't lock/unlock with the fob or either of the front door lock switches?

It does not automatically switch in any situation... putting into park/drive/etc. Also, I can HEAR something behind the door handle click, but no action. Not sure if that helps.

I just wanna know which part I'm gonna need exactly before I tear the door apart, or won't I be able to tell until I have the panel taken off?

And I want a pony for Christmas. I suspect we're both going to be disappointed.

Seriously, there's no substitute for troubleshooting. Sometimes you have to leave the vehicle disassembled while you buy the part, or put it back together and double the time to repair. Neither is the end of the world.

When I was flying around the world fixing very subtle problems in million-dollar semiconductor test systems, after local maintenance staff tried and failed to repair them, the customers would ALWAYS demand to know how long I was going to take to fix it. I ALWAYS told them, if I knew how long it was going to take, I would already know what was bad and if I knew that, I would have given them the fix by email instead of flying my sorry but quite experienced diagnostician butt across the world to be in your low-rent dirty-ass sort of country using my own toilet paper because yours sucks.

That said, it usually took me three days, no matter what the problem was. One to 1.5 days of observing, interviewing, and running tests I'd come up with to stress the system and exercise the envelope. One day to formulate a theory and confirm it. One day to fix it and babysit the fix to confirm it works under all conditions. Least time it took was 15 minutes, after 22 hours of travel to Bangkok from Boston. For that one, my babysitting time was spent by the pool at the local resort hotel, which was also the crew layover hotel for foreign aircrews like Lufthansa and SAS (Scandinavian Air System) back in the day. Can you say Swedish Bikini Team? :wootwoot:

Well, it decided to start working again. I guess it just took a few flips of the switch manually to loosen it up a bit...? Or maybe its because I just paid $3k for a new transmission and said NO MORE and it listened.
