Just wondering if this version exists? It would be a perfect combo.

Nope. It was AWD (like the Bravada/Rainer) or 2WD. It's probably possible to modify it with a hi/lo transfer case, but whether the effort/messing with the PCM/ECM is another story.

Not quite. The SS has a full-time AWD whereas the others, like the Rainier, Bravada and 9-7x are part-time, which is like Auto on the 4x4 trucks.

Aaah my mistake. I thought the system was near identical to them, I know the SS had issues with transfer cases blowing out.

It was done by one person that I know of and I think they used gear out of a Tahoe. Not sure what else was done but it was lifted, on at least 35's and offroaded a lot.

If I remember the thread @Matt is talking about, they put in a manual transfer case, that had a manual shift selector sticking thru the floor.

I guess they would have to use something from a full size truck to handle the LS2's torque.

And I think I saw it when I went to the meet in 2018. Lifted, oversized tires and LOUD!

Oh wow! I didn't know someone managed to pull it off. I'd be interested in seeing how it was done, or what the setup looked like.

The only conversion I've seen done on here was a Bravada, that had some wiring ran to the PCM and they were able to swap the transfer case for a standard 4x4 with the selector switch.

@Mooseman I recall seeing on the SS forum, that there were guys replacing the factory transfer case for the beefier one found in the Yukon Denali/Escalade. I guess the factory one was barely able to handle the LS2.

That's the one. If you remember Erik raced it against Dennis's Cobolt SS and it was close but the truck won.
