I was just trying to keep you happy so you wouldn't put any 37 imprints accross the hood and roof of mine :raspberry:

Look at the chart Larry posted, if you look again at the tires I have they're on 16s, not 17s. This is how I can run 265/70R16s.

You should be ok with 245/70R17 or 255/65R17, not sure 255/70R17s will fit. I was looking at going with 265/75R16s, but didnt know if I was going to have to mess with the UBJ. Bought the 265/70R16s instead, and they were $125 (now $120) a tire vs like $152 for the 265/75R16s. Stock 245/70R16s in the same tire are $119 now, so $1 more for an extra 1" of diameter isnt too shabby IMO. This truck wont see any offroading in Montana with my brother, he just likes the lift and bigger wheels for looks and ground clearance for snow. Id like to wheel it a little in the spring when its back in Seattle, but nothing crazy like Donny is doing

Plus I think Ive figured out the tire size adjustment for the 02-05 guys...going to do some testing next week on my 02 and then on Craig's 04 when he comes out for New Years. Fingers crossed!

Would almost seem the 245/70R17 would be the best choice of the two.

I can see your point on the two sizes. If you were on 16" wheels like us you could go to the 265/70R16 and be OK

Looks like it, average 30.5" diameter means its going to be a toss up whether they fit. Ill tell you now, I have plenty of clearance on my SS with 17" LTZ rims running 255/65R17 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2s. 30.1" diameter, same as the 255/50R20s so I dont have to reflash the TCM every time I swap tires lol.

I'm on 17"

That was Larry's point, you have 17s so we're trying to figure it out. If you had 16s, we could tell you what fits and what doesnt.

245/70R17 and 265/65R17 are 30.5" and 30.6" respectively, Id put money on either fitting. To play it safe go with the 245/70R17s as I dont know how much clearance your 17s have (I think the different 17s might have different backspacing, I know my 20s stick at least 1/4" wider than the 17" LTZ rims I have).

If you make it to our New Year's meet I should have both of my TBs there. If you're still concerned about fit, Im sure we can throw a jack under on of the 17s on the SS and throw it on your truck to check for clearance. It would give us a pretty good idea. (Or we can look at the SS and avoid this work haha )

My brother will have about 1500-2000mi on the Kumho Road Ventures I threw on it by that time, he says he's blasting through the snow in Bozeman, MT without any problems, they're quieter than the original Dueler Revos that were on there and my Revo 2s (they were on the 02 for ~5 weeks), and the ride is great. Ill be able to give a better opinion when it gets back home and I can put some miles on it myself. Plus they're pretty cheap compared to the Revo 2s, General Grabber H/Ts, Yoko Geolanders, and Firestone Destination LEs.

Meh.

Buy body lift, buy wheel spacers, cut fenders, get 35s.

Problem solved.

I just remembered where I saw that chart, 1010tires.com

What of the over 3.19 % on the 245/70/17, didn't it say you risk brake failure going over the 3%?

Yeah they have a nice calculator over there.

Just increasing the diameter will cause things things to work a little harder. I haven't noticed anything different with my braking. The biggest thing is the speedometer and Odometer are then out of tolerance which should be less than 3%. If you are considering a tune anyhow that can be adjusted to within 3% again.

Even for mild off-roading there is a lot to consider when you are doing it.

So any idea where the next meet is going to be? i read somewhere that someone had the idea of doing it at or near the Tulalip casino.... it would be close to me, Jbones, and Answer069........ and they have a huge parking lot/lots of room. Anyone else have any ideas? i keep seeing date possibilities, but no places....

I'm thinking this is the thread to be watching for the next developing meet?
