I'm getting closer and closer to buying cragar soft 8's, but need help with which ones I should be buying. I don't want them sticking out past the fenders, so I need help with the offset, as I have no idea how to figure that out. I know I need to buy adapters, too. I plan on buying the smallest ones so I don't have problems with the wheels sticking out. I'm ordering them in 17", but not sure on the width I should get either.

If your vehicle profile was filled out it would be much easier to help. Your Nice is showing an 05 TB but you are posting in the full sized forum.

Running spacer or adapters or just wheels.

Lots of variables are unknown here.

I will be running adapters, because I don't believe I can get them in our bolt pattern. The smallest adapters are 1.25 inches? I have a 2005 Trailblazer if that helps.

Running adapters you will want to get 1.5" the thinnest you can get is 1.3" but you will have to grind the rear studs.

You can actually get 1 inch if you grind the studs a bit. Will be perfectly fine.

I had no idea there were 1" adapters. Could you point me in the right direction where to buy them? I don't mind shortening my studs as long as it's safe.

1.3 you do not even come close to getting into the threads on studs. I used a dremel to grind them since it was so little. At 1 inch you still have full engagement to lugnuts. I actually went to wider spacers, but on the SSowners site you can find several using 1 inch spacers. Often in rear only but that requires more stud removal. I believe most use an ebay vendor, but I did talk with markmc awhile back before when I was going to run different wheels and wanted to go down to 1 inch. I believe we confirmed his supplier could make some.

I would not hesitate to run 1 inch spacers. If you look at our studs, there is a bunch of unthreadedmaterial at the end of studs.

I do have a set of 1.3 inch adaptors I would be willing to sell.

if I remember correctly our rims are 7 inches wide with 6 inches of backspace.
If you added a 1.3" spacer and ran your factory rims you are going to stick out 1.3" more.
I think the bottom line, if you run a soft 8, it is going to stick out more, the question is how much.

What size tires are you planning to run?
How wide of a rim?

I'm just guessing you will run a 17X8.

If you can get a 17X8 with 7 inches of backspace that will give you the least amount sticking out. Most soft 8's I see run about 4-5 inches of backspace which (if I did my math right) would stick out 3.3"-4.3" more than they are now. If you add on a bigger tire they will appear to stick out a little more as well.

Here is a link to an offroadtb member's build thread that has soft 8s.
