About a week ago I noticed I had a small hole somewhere in my exhaust and after a long drive this weekend the noise got A LOT worse. I finally found the crack today after applying some back pressure, it's right in front of my muffler, right on the edge of the hanger weld. Here's some pics:

What are my options? Does anyone have any experience using the putty/sealants/patches that are made for exhausts? Spending $10 and doing it myself would be a lot better than paying a mechanic $$$ to weld it.

From passed experience its a waste of money. Especially in that area.
If money is really tight, you might find a muffler shop that can just replace that small section of pipe.

Yeah I figured it was an already stressed area. I was hoping they could just do a small patch job, I wasn't planning on actually replacing anything :O
