Corsa 14030

tried to find one of these for my TB, but the price has doubled, so thats not going to happen

Watch ebay, the price is normally a little under $300, but you can pick up the kit for around $140-$150 every once and a while.

The price is so high because Corsa kits for GM vehicles, even though they're made by Corsa, are GM registered products through GM Performance Division. One of only a few products, if not the only product out there that can make that claim. Also, take a look at the tips on the high end GM vehicles, especially the 'Vettes and Camaros, and tell me those don't look a lot like stuff you see on Corsa's website... :undecided:

Just stopping in with a report on structural integrity. Ever since I hacked off the resonator and put this tip on it seems like it's been a magnet for impact. Hardly a week or two after I put the tip on I got hit in the rear end, the pic is further back in the thread. I initially thought that it hadn't been touched, but in fact it did take a hit. The hit didn't even harm it and the rubber hangers did their job, but what was amazing was that there wasn't even any scratching on the tips or any disfiguration.

This past weekend I plowed into the median in the snow, taking a pretty good hit at the bottom and actually knocking the rear hanger rubber off the exhaust. The tip held up just as good as ever, not a bit of damage to it.

It also appears to be handling the constant salt bath that this winter has thrown at it, I see no corrosion or rust, but I'll have the official report on this when the weather clears up and I get it washed correctly.

The salt in WV has discolored my stainless steel tip pretty bad. Going to have to replace it in the spring. It was a cheap $30 DC tip from advanced auto. Definitely going to upgrade so I do not have to buy one every spring.

Hopefully by that time I'll have mine cleaned and take some pics. That may help you decide.

As promised, here are some pictures after a handwashing session.

Before - that's several layers of baked on road salt and general nastiness:

It's hard to tell in the pics, but it did indeed come back to just as shiny as it was brand new. I pulled out the trusty Blue Magic liquid metal polish and tried a small spot on the inner lip where it is also shiny, and it came clean as well. I may work on getting the inside clean possibly tomorrow or in warmer weather. Bottom line - the salt from this excessive winter seemed to have no effect on the tip. I'm officially impressed.

That still looks good considering the winter we have had and the tons of salt the state has used. Mine is awful. I am going to have to spend some cash on a better stainless steel tip.

Well, I can't post pics anymore, but trust me when I say the Corsa tip is still just as pretty as ever. I actually spent a little time on it today and got it to shine up cleaner and nicer than in the pic in my last post. It was just as dirty to start with too. The inside of the tips WILL come clean and shine just like the outside, but I've chosen to leave them their now natural flat black but keep the rolled lip of the tips polished clean (better than the last clean pic above). This tip is made out of some GOOD stainless - it seems impervious to the salty nastiness that Winter inflicts on it. The only rust I noticed was at the welds done by the exhaust shop, so this summer I wire wheeled them really well and did some masking, then hit the adapter pipe the shop custom bent and the welds on either side with some good flat black exhaust paint, which has held up remarkably well also. Not a fan of painted exhaust, but you have to be under the vehicle to see the area that was painted anyhow.

The exhaust does have a tendency to want to yellow up the paint just above the tips, although fortunately for me it comes off with a little elbow grease. The side exit exhaust remains very near the top of my favorite appearance mod list, right beside roof rack removal and debadging.

I am now really considering this on my voy I love the looks and we have been using corsa in our family for years it costs more but is always worth it in the long run

I would LOVE to be able to post pics again, but every time I try to attach one I get a "too big to upload" error.
