I would if I had the money. They're cheaper than I remember them being ($50) and he can put pretty much any color in them.

Do the turn signals work? Like all you had to do was plug in the connector and *bam* you know have working turn signal mirrors?

I can't justify spending anywhere close to that for LED inserts to these...

Yup, plug n' play. Just wish the signals functioned like the front turn signals, if they did I would put lil 194 switchback LEDs in

$50 isn't too bad considering the craftsmanship he puts into them. Great quality and a fellow GMTNation member to boot. It'll clean up the mirrors nicely.

I agree. I am sure there's got to be a way to tap them into the parking lights somehow.

Yeah I'm sure, but I don't feel like running anymore wires. I have quite enough up there as it is lol

It's not too difficult. That's what I did with LED mirror mod version 1. Just need a couple of relays, wiring and connectors. When your mod bug starts feenin, and wants a mirror mod fix, let me know, I'll be your pusher :poke:

I should of gotten the power folding version, but it was like $50 more. Oh well :sadcry:
How did you go about modding the turn signals to run with the headlights/front markers

Can't quite remember everything, cuz it was forever ago, and I didn't make a schematic... Used a DPDT relay underneath the steering column, and a SPDT relay in each door. Although my stock mirrors didn't have turn signals, so I had to add them, so it would be slightly different for you.

Took the turn signal in each door and applied it to one side of the SPDT relay coils, parking light signal (ground) to the other side of the coil. Don't remember the exact connections to the LEDs, but the outputs then went to the + of the LED strips I was using. The - is grounded as usual. Under the dash is a thick bundle of cables, one of which (brown wire) carries the parking light signal to the trailer plug. Set up the DPDT relay connection to the doors, to be connected to ground, until the parking light came on, then switch over to the parking light signal.

Logic behind these connections: In the doors, if either signal is on, the opposing connection is used as a ground for the relay, causing it to activate, and sends the signal to the LEDs, lighting them up on that side. BUT, if neither, or both signals are hot, then there's no current flow across the coil, and the relay turns (stays) off. The DPDT relay under the dash has to be grounded when the parking signal is off, otherwise the turn signal will backfeed through the relay into the trailer parking light wire when the parking lights are off, causing your other mirror to flash. Guess how I found this out? :duh: (I also had a lift gate LED bar plugged into the trailer connector, so that was nice to look at )

Now, the non LED version (but who really wants that?) you just cut the ground wire connections at the mirror's plug going into the door module, and extend the connection to that trailer parking signal under the dash. There's enough resistance in the filament bulb that the turn signals won't backfeed on you. If you do this mod, I will call all the BKs in your county and tell them to ban you from ordering chicken nuggets. :raspberry:

Kinda lost me there Carlton lol, buuut thankfully I've got Brandon down here to make sense of that, but I understand the way to do it for the stock bulb setup.

Don't you daaaare call them BK's yo, or I won't ever make it to a FL meet [emoji23]

See what happens when you mess with the cluster? :raspberry: :rotfl:
They are only off a a tad, not insanely off. Just gonna have to move the needles left more for their starting positions, then keep slightly adjusting until it's right. You'd be able to do this mod Ryan. It's a straightforward one.

Thanks Carlton, surprised nobody has ever asked me about it before today

Yup HVAC is the next on the list for LED's. I already had Green LEDs with resistors ready to go, but changes my mind and want to put blue flat tops in there

Make sure you put white ones behind the temp sliders, otherwise the colors will not light up properly. I had blue ones there initially, and the blue looked great, but the red was barely visible at night.

This is turning into a repair thread versus a build thread :rotfl: :raspberry:
Lol nuh uhhhh, only other repairs besides what I did today was Alternator. Only things left are a broken valve spring or lifter and power steering seals. Then I can go ahead with continuing more expensive mods [emoji14]

Plans after deployment:
- SS wheels
- SS bumpers
- Glasspack to replace Magnaflow
- PMCofNC tune
- Dip or Paintjob
