Basic Upgrades?

Hi Guys,

I don't see any threads or STICKYs about basic suspension upgrades.

I don't want to lower it, but I could go up an inch or 2.

Are their any good after-market sway bars, or after market struts and springs?

I am just curious since I have 150k on the truck, and will be looking at suspension items.

THE LIFT MEISTER is the way to go for a lift!!! Here's my truck with 2.5" kit, 1.5" spacers and 265/70/17s

If you want more stiffness and less body roll, Go with the lift for Mark. My stock suspension was horribly bouncy with the bilstein's and new springs. I got the lift and it tightened everything up and the ride quality is amazing now. If you do lift prepare to replace ball joints and tie rods and everything else that is almost wore out......

Damnit ! That's nice, I might have to look into that now (without wife knowing). Also, how much was it total to do ? I am at 87,000 should I get new ball joints, tie rods and whatever else ?

I got everything used and did it for about $450 including tires, mounting, balancing and alignment.

So what about other parts (tie rods etc) ? should I worry about them yet, or not (do it in 30,000-40,000 miles when I look into shocks/struts). $450 nice, I will probably get new, quoted $749 mounted and balanced for AT'2 265/70-17 and my mechanic charge $35 an hour, and alignment $35 (atleast for me  )

If your going to get struts, do them with the lift. Installing the front lift is the same as installing struts, so do it at the same time so you don't need to do it twice. The other parts I would change if you need them, if not wait.

Definitely have a look at offroadtb.com. There are lot's of build threads and discussions on lifting. I can say from experience that it's not a huge job to put a small lift on these as long as you have some tools and know what you're looking at.
