Adding a real oil pressure gauge. Digital or Analog? What PSI range?

Finally adding a true oil pressure gauge. I don't want to run an oil line into the Envoy so am going with a wired one.

Would you go with a digital or analog style? What P.S.I. range? 2002 4.2

I would personally go with an analog one and PSI range of "0" to "100" or "0" to "60" or so. You want to get used to seeing the needle at a certain spot and not necessarily a number.

From others here and on YT videos that have connected a mechanical gauge, pressures can go as high as 80 psi when cold and settle back down to 60 psi hot at driving RPM depending on how old and worn the engine is. So a 0-100 would be required. Digital or analog is entirely your preference. I personally prefer analog for stability of readings.

Hijacking since I want to do this as well. What's the easiest way to do this? Not necessarily afraid of running a line into the cab, but this isn't something I've done before.

Thank you for the feedback and the links all.

I have the adapter in the front in place and temporarily plugged until I decide on a gauge and mount. I have been looking for a blue tooth type of sensor that can cast to an app on my phone but they are prohibitively expensive.

Has anyone seen one that is more reasonably priced than $500.00 ?

I was thinking since I have a mount for my phone that might be a slick way to go.

At that point, would there still be an analog gauge?
