Before I go back to the 2002 wiring schematics, I thought I would post this to see if it's an obvious thing or if I'm going to have to open up all of the tape under the dash. I'm not sure what the previous owner may have had or done. For example, does this look standard for an electronic brake control or a remote start or something along those lines where it's identifiable by looks and there's steps for me to take or is this potentially part of my electrical issue and I need to open up everything.
The dark blue and orange are thicker wires with electrical tape at the end and the light blue just seems to be clean cut, no tape, and there's nothing sticking out of the harness anywhere where I can identify what it may previously have attached to. The rest of the harness and any wiring down there all seem to be closed off with electrical tape so I'm asking before opening things up. No obvious connection points.
