So I just got some 22in D'Vinci Vento with 265/40/22 tires....I had them leave the black inserts on, but I am kinda wanting to take them off and roll all chrome....the wife disagrees lol. What do you guys think?

Take the inserts off. The black can do alright as an "accent" on some, but it shouldn't be running across the chrome and detracting from the look like that.

I'm going with the wife on this one. I like the black and a darker tone like yours. If it were slammed low all chrome but the black looks good. :twocents:

Maybe do one side and not the other? More :pictures:

Maybe I will do that....I'll pull the inserts off one side and take some pics....if I like it than 1/2 the work is done lol I might even be motivated to pull the roof rack off also and see how much of a difference that makes for the overall look of the truck:eek:

If you ditch the rack, don't get rid of it. When I put my OEM super lame 17" wheels back on I wasn't feeling the look at all and put the rack back on. I was so glad I didn't sell it.

Also I vote chrome.

leave the rims and rack alone, delete your resonator instead.

Like the black with the rims. Take the trash can off (resonator), and take the roof rack off too..

Your TB looks good with those wheels. I am on the fence about the black inserts. Like Plays said we need a pick with them off with at all possible.

Definitely lose the exhaust resonator, roof rack, and side molding. I think it would look good with color matched door handles and mirror covers

Ok, I removed the black inserts.....wife was in my ear the whole time "Leave them on, leave them on" lol I think I like the look without the inserts...they look cleaner imo....roof rack will come off this weekend and possibly the resonator....depends if my buddy is home.

Looks good. After the rack and leaving the inserts off, paint the mirror caps and door handles your body color?

:iagree: with Plays. The wheels look good all chrome. Hack off the resonator, take off roof rack and side molding, color match mirror covers and door handles and your all set. Best thing about all these mods is that they are all DIY for very cheap.

I'm split on removing the side molding if they are body color. Mine have been effective taking a few ding impacts. :twocents:

A tight garage space all winter in the mountains. Compromises. :rotfl:

Yeah, but what is great about having color matched side molding without the Trailblazer logo in it is that once he removes the roof rack, he can use the side molding to cover all the bolt holes in the roof where the rack was mounted.

Use some 6mm stainless steel set screws with pipe tape on the threads, cover the top of the set screws with some RTV black to seal the tops, and then put some new 3M molding tape on the side molding and install down each side of the roof where the rack once was. I think it is a cleaner look than just throwing set screws in and color matching the top of them :twocents:

Unless you want to go to a body shop and have them grind and fill then repaint for some cash, this is a cheaper DIY route. I am OCD, so seeing the 1/8" of the bolt hole sticking up drove me crazy the first time I tool the rack off. I ended up re-installing the rack an hour later. It stayed on until I seen a thread for someone who went the route that I described above, then it was time for the roof rack to go.

I like the black on the rims and IMO prefer the side mouldings for the morons that hit your vehicle with their door.

I like the inserts removed.

I would leave the roof rack because they are amazingly helpful at times.

I like the clean look of the moldings removed.

The mirrors and handles painted could be alright, but dont do them cheap because chipped paint looks far worse that the way they look now. I would never paint mine, but it can look good.

With the price of chrome today, I would never cover it. I removed the side molding on my Denali and love the way it transformed the side view (looks shorter now). The way I see it, the molding is painted too, so what's the diff if some moron puts a ding in the door or the molding...it's still a ding. Kept my rack cause to me they are more handy than ugly...Mike.

I would stick with the chrome looks cleaner. De mold is a must. In no way am I a fan of lowering trucks but it looks like there is too much space between the tire and the wheel well :twocents:
