Looking to beef up my Envoy

So need new tires and looking to get 245-70-r17 on stock wheels and I'm pretty sure they'll work without any mods but would like to know definitively before I buy. I do plan to get 1.5 inch or even 2 inch wheel spacers with plans to also get a leveling kit as well. Will these tires work without touching the UCA? Also what is the max OD and max width of tire I can get after these mods with minimal trimming? I would also like to replace the OEM bumper with a steel one at some point. I'm sure some of this has been answered in previous posts but digging through all that info could take a lifetime. First time posting on this forum.

Theoretically they would fit, as they calculate out to a 30.5" tire and 30.6" is the max without spacers. It will depend on the exact tire though as each tire brand is a little different.

I went with 265/75/16 which is just under 32" and had to do very slight corner trimming on my Trailblazer, but the Envoy has slightly different size/shape wheel wells. I forget if they give you more or less room.

Plan to get 245 70r17 Nitto terra grappler g2's for now and after the mods possibly the terra grappler M/Ts in a bigger size later. I know I should be getting the spacers and lift before bigger tires but I figured these are only slightly bigger and the tires must come first because they are down to about 1/16 of tread and 3 out of four I have to refill about every three days. Needless to say I have neglected my tires for far too long.

Also what is your setup I know it's a TB not an Envoy but still to get those tires what size spacers and lift did you choose?

I have MarkMC 2.5" suspension lift and using his 1.5" spacers with my stock wheels.

Seems to be what most people recommend for the leveling kit. Hoping the 1.5" spacers help my stock wheels protrude from the fender a bit, thats why Im not sure if I should go to 2" spacers. could get new wheels with correct backspacing to do this but not trying to put every last penny I have into my ride just yet. Baby steps... Picture is a little hard to see but I'm sure with your setup it looks nice. I had a black trailblazer and I miss it but I don't mind my white Envoy either.

Why not go a little wider than the 245? Got 255/65/17 on our EXT but it's completely stock. Wider = more traction whether your on pavement or dirt/mud. Not sure how wide you can go stock but it looks like 260 or maybe even 265 would fit fine.

I have some better pics. I think 2" spacers would be a bit much, but that's just my opinion. I don't like them sticking out too far, just making them about flush.

I would love to I just wasn't sure if on a stock setup I would hit the UCA with a wider tire. I know there's a height/ OD issue with hitting the ball joint seat when going above 30.5" but I just assumed I couldn't go much wider either. You think I could do a wider tire on stock as long as the sidewall percent still makes the tire OD 30.5 maximum?
And just saying I'm really not ever planning on taking this offroading, this is my only vehicle not an expensive toy to go playing in the mud or rock crawling.

And nice ride Sparky I really like comparison in this photo showing stock VS spacers.

The 1.5s do look better but I think having them out just a bit further would be more to my liking. I just wonder how much more stress 2" VS 1.5" will put on the geometry and bearings, but like I said not taking mine offroad so maybe street use won't be too detrimental...

2 inch with stock wheels is a non-issue compared to how wide some of sit...

I actually am thinking of putting 2 inch on the front of mine since these wheels have less offset then my previous and touch the frame at full lock.
