Name is Chris, and instead of introducing myself properly I went straight to buying service manuals and posting about my transmission.
I've got a 2003 Envoy XL SLE, I6, 2wd that we've owned since new. 209k miles put on by my wife, who recently got a new Toyota so now I'm driving the truck. Just had a GM reman transmission put in, replaced sparks, cleaned TB, and replaced thermostat and ECT sensor. I've always done most of the maintenance/repairs, sending to the shop only for warranty/recall work and also a set of new motor mounts at 175k.
Plan to install my amateur radio gear (K*C4.BB^Q), make some performance and appearance mods, swap in a G80 rear and possibly put on a suspension lift, MDB bumper and A/T shoes. Up here in NW Florida we've got no hills or rocks, just sandy trails and beaches that I don't go on now because of the one wheel peel axle, but I'm thinking if I get a G80 I'll have no problem getting into the woods with this truck.
So hello, and I hope to eventually be able to contribute more than I learn.
