Where to mount a security box?

I'm looking to mount a security box to hold a pistol in a 06 trail blazer ls. It needs to be out of sight, and i can find any decent place to do this that would not be too obvious. Any ideas?

Do you use OnStar? I removed the OnStar control from under the rear seat of my '03. It has plenty of room if the security box isn't too big.

Yes it does have on star but i've never used it. Will it mess anything else up if you remove the on star ?

A number of people have removed the box, and used that space for other things.
