Walk, no, RUN AWAY FROM RAYBESTOS!!!! Made in China crud. I installed a pair of these. One completely failed within a month. No warning, no noise, just bang. Bearings inside were gone. The other was on its way out. Replaced both with Timken and haven't heard a peep from them in over a year.

+1 and I bet your local repair guy uses Raybestos brand and charges that much because the margin of his profit.

As for going with the dealer, that is still way too much for one side. You could buy four new tires with that.

Instead, to save some money only if I couldn't do the job myself; I would ask the dealer and the local guy how much they would charge just for labor if you supply the hub which is not to bad from RockAuto.

Good to hear. 2 months into my replacement hubs and so far so good. I'd be happy with just 5 years. The OEM's held up 7. Probably could have went another year but vibrations at highway speeds are like nails on a chalkboard for me.

I would strongly urge those who have such symptoms not to ignore them. Failed wheel bearings can be a source of serious danger especially at highway speeds. Years and thousands of miles of driving on a symptomatic bearing is a very bad idea IMO.

As for the products to use I have not had good experiences with the cheap ebay hubs with "lifetime warranties". These parts tend to fail in a year's worth of driving and often have sketchy ABS sensors/plugs. The fine print of the warranty often stipulates that you must purchase the same part from the same place again then return the bad bearing and pray for a refund.

The GMT330 platform had widely experienced wheel bearing/hub issues so I find it hard to subscribe to the philosophy that GM and it's suppliers always know best though for my GMT360 I had a new OEM part installed after I experienced symptoms at around 65k miles. If I were doing it myself I'd opt to spend a few more dollars and buy the part locally where support and warranty fulfillment are easier and more reliable.
