I have been wondering for some time now what these hooks, receivers, and a outlet are for on my 2002 Trailblazer LS. Also, is it possible to mount a brushgaurd with these or is that what these are for?
Thanks for your time!

Those are disconnectable tow bar locations for towing the truck in transfer case NEUTRAL mode (which only the 4WD vehicles have) with all four wheels on the ground behind an RV. The connector is for the RV to be able to slave the brake lights on the trailblazer to the brake lights of the RV, and also to control (required in almost all jurisdictions) an electric brake slave controller.

Roadmaster is a large vendor of these systems

I guarantee it's not OEM. Upon more research, it looks like the Blue Ox baseplate product. There's going to be a lot more structure back under the bumper cover.

WIth some welding, I think that structure could be an EXCELLENT base for a brush guard - much better than the flimsy brackets they usually come with. Almost as beefy as the bracket structure supplied with the Curt 31055 front receiver hitch unit.

Here's mine when I was installing it:

OK. Semi Related question, since my Envoy had this on it when I bought it.. does that mean a lot of the miles that are registered on the odometer (147K) are only towing miles and the truck was not even running for a lot of them? Or would the miles while being towed not register on the odometer?
