Video Ads & Other Ad Links

Why am I seeing video ads popping up while viewing threads, and on the left side there is a "Related Searches" area with links to various topics or ads? This has just recently been happening. I thought that as a supporting member, ads would not come up.

I just made a donation a few days ago.

I think I had some malware on my PC. Ran a antimalware program and it looks like the ad pop ups are gone.

That is still pretty strange. Were they in your browser or on the actually forum page?

They appeared in two places, the video ad was layered over the page content and the "related searched" column actually shifted the Nation page to the right.

BTW - this also occurred on the OS. That's what made me look at malware.

Never know what you'll pick up in that spam filled wasteland.

Definitely won't be competent help though unless it's from someone over here.

Actually, I probably picked it up while trying to download an OBD2 software. There were some strange behaviors when I installed it. Lesson learned, can't trust "free" software.

Yeah those disks that come with the Ebay Bluetooth/USB scanners are said to be infected.
