Urgent Fan Clutch question

What's the difference between the Dorman, 4 Seasons thermal and AC Delco fan clutches? I'm looking at replacing mine today and there's quite a price difference in them. I see the Dorman gets mixed reviews. The other two appear to be thermal, so will I have code issues like I seem to be reading about? Also how do I know if a fan clutch I buy today will be better than the apparently failed experiment that was the electro-viscous clutch?

Kind of need an answer in a hurry, won't hold it against the site if I don't get it, I'm late in posting such a question.

Not urgent anymore, I went with the Four Seasons, but turns out I didn't need it.

Still curious about the differences for future reference.
