o.k. guys, I want to know if the safety guy is on crack or something. had my wife take the 2003 envoy up to the safety and emissions place cause we live in mo and have to get it done every two years, so she takes it up there. it fails because of worn driver's side tire rod, and I have two turn signal bulbs up front that are out. one on the bottom on one side and one on the top on the other. Correct me if I am wrong but I though there is just one dual element bulb on each side for parking/turn signal or do we really have two bulbs on both sides? and as far as the tie rod, I can change that no problem, but will I have to get a re alignment if I can get it on there in the same spot. thanks in advance for the help.

The corner light on each side lights up (solid) when the turn signal is on. So it probably has the turn bulb out on one side and the corner light out on the other.

I know about the corner ones lighting up when you turn on the turn signals. I know both of those work just from noticing it at night time.

You will need an alignment because it's impossible to get the replacement to match the old one's length. The inspection won't check alignment though, so you can do them in either order. If it's bad enough to fail inspection, didn't you notice wandering or looseness in normal driving?

You might also do both, since if one's bad, the other may be getting there. One alignment can cover both parts.

I only see one bulb up front (per side) that flashes, and that's the dual filament one. If a corner bulb isn't out maybe the guy noted the wrong bulb being out. Wouldn't be the first time that has happened.

nope really did not notice wondering, and the passenger side has already been replaced because it has a grease fitting. the driver's side does not. thanks for the heads up though

The Envoy has two bulbs in that amber area. IIRC, a side marker 194 and the dual filament 3457.
