Transmission shift adjustments.

I have a pcmforless tune with #2 shift firmness.
I also have the vette servo, .490 boost valve, and accumulator.
When I first start off (cold trans) it shifts a lot snappier. I like it - it'll chirp into second. But then after it warms up - even just a little the shift isn't that snappy (still very snappy compared to the stock mush).

So maybe this is something I should be asking pcmforless;
Is it possible to make it shift like when it's cold all the time? I would think so. It seems like it must be the computer telling it how to act at what temperature. Either we have to tell it to act like that at all temperatures, or tell it it's always cold - no??

I thought some members had/or knew how to use HP Tuners. I know I didn't post about HP Tuners in the first post - just figured anybody with the answer would know that you need a programmer.

I have it - but it's kind of like if I had a jet. (useless till I know how to use it!!)

If anybody can help (not with the jet!), PM me and I'll see if I can send my shift tables and maybe you can tell me what to adjust.

Thanks for the PM Bill.

I dont have HPTuners, but my 02 does the same thing. It has to do with the shift table temperature modifier tables, I dont know if you have access to them in HPT. EFILive doesnt have them for the 02-05 P10s or 06-07 P12s, only for 08-09 T42s.

Shoot me an email (my screenname @gmail.com) with your tune file and Ill see if I can make some suggestions. Ive gotten in the habit of just waiting until it warms up before putting my foot into it (better for the engine/trans anyway), but I know what you're talking about. There are times I want my 02 to behave the same way, but my brother drives it mostly now so Ive gone back to a tamer shift profile.

Hi,
I just had the trainy rebuild and the tech put in an upgraded servo, I know because the new performance is just amazing compare to before and I know that a straight rebuild would not perform like that. I do not have the pcm4less but I'm experiencing the same issue.

Black LT, I got your email. Been busy with work and dealing with that right now, havent had an hour to sit down and look through your tune (and 2 other guys' as well) yet.

Might have some time tomorrow, if not have to be early next week. Plus Im not super comfortably in HPTuners yet, so it takes me long to check things vs in EFILive.

No doubt they made it better than stock. What I was describing isn't really an issue, it's just how these trucks computers/transmissions work. I was just describing that I would like that cold snappy shift all the time - which you can't do without programming the PCM.

No problem at all. Glad you got it. Next week, next month, ... I know what you mean about being busy, so it's working out just fine!
