Transmission repair shops in/near delaware- recommendations???

Im looking for some recommendations for transmission repair shops in or near northern DE.
Here are a few that i have come across so far.

Joe Shilling Trans repair - Claymont DE
Benchmark Trans - Wilmington/Newport DE
All-Trans - Bear DE
Cottman Trans
AAMCO

I only have some experience many yrs ago with Joe Shilling, my brother used them for trans rebuild on an old Regal. The Benchmark shop is minutes away from my house.


ANYONE HAVE ANY HELPFUL THOUGHTS??????

No idea on Joe / benchmark / or all trans.

But had nothing but problems with trans rebuilds by cottman and aamco.

Not sure if it helps any.

What's going on with the trans if I may ask?

its actually for my 06 pontiac G6 sedan. Noticed that it hesitates going into drive after backing out of a spot or driveway. Its a sealed trans and from what ive read its a real PITA to just check the fluid.


I think im going up to claymont and having Joe Shilling look at it. Gonna take it for a drive with me and then see what he has to say. Im gonna have the filter and fluid (dex6) changed out for $130.

I agree, to stay away from the big name chain shops Aamco, Cottman, etc. .I think that all unscrupulous mechanics eventually gravitate to the transmission repair field where the can gouge the hell out of stranded people. Ask around and maybe find a Ma & Pa shop that's recommended by a friend...Mike.

I have had many transmissions rebuilt at All-Trans on Albe Drive. They offer FREE diagnostics and were hundreds cheaper than other shops I got prices from. I agree to stay away from the chain shops!
