Thermostat and tune

Getting ready to order my tune and seen they can chip for 180 tstat versus 195 oem.... Thoughts?

Some where there is a thread that talks of the GM's not running hot enough due to a lazy t-stat and that ruining the cat because it does not get hot enough to burn it clean.

A 185 tstat might be ok. As long as the temp is over 190 as seen by the CTS. I think its when temps get to 180 or lower that problems start to develop.

Agreed with Limequat . It probably will run leaner and cleaner the hotter it gets.

Here are the scan tool parameters and their typical values at idle.
