Best Procedures for Modern Law Enforcement follow up in such situations:

(1) Calvin & Co. were probably Targeted and Surveilled at the Gainesville Florida Speedway and trailed up to NC... By PROFESSIONALS...

(2) Given the high probability of the Auto Thieves being caught soon afterwards, they would have only driven the Rig just a few miles away from the NC Hotel and then parked the Rig in an uncovered, wooded area nearby. Also... Large Parking Lots at Walmart Shopping Centers, Home Depots and Lowes, etc. make the perfect "Hiding in Plain Sight" locations... While the Thieves Keep An Eye On IT.

(3) Professional Thieves are organized enough NOT to take the Rig directly to the Chop Shop and would allow enough of a *Cool Down* period to ensure that NO HIDDEN LO-JACK Hardware was built into or attached to The Rig.

(4) Local Law Enforcement may have been able to discover the Rig within a Five Mile Radius by using High Endurance Mavic Drones and following an Expanding Square Aerial Search starting from the POT (Point Of Theft) Location... Looking for the Initial Local Drop Off Point.

(5) Local Law Enforcement would benefit from making direct contact with a Representative of the NATB (National Auto Theft Bureau) and get the ball rolling of posting images to related agencies and "Spread The Word" ASAP to the Nationwide Police Agency Highway Patrols and Major Agencies working Professional Auto Theft Rings all over North America.

(6) Send an NCIC TTY (Tele-Type) to all 17,000 participating Police Agencies with Full Descriptions of the Stolen Rig.

(7) All Agencies can peruse any Auto Theft Stolen Parts available on Drag Racing Forums and Haunts on Facebook, Reddit and elsewhere on the Internet by Googling some of the Specialty Racing Components being offered For Sale on eBay, etc.

(8) Calvin has already done the best possible thing by getting the word out at Ground Zero via his YouTube Videos while on site at the Hotel in North Carolina on April 7th, 2024.

(9) The Oldest Auto Theft Agency in the USA established in 1945 is called "The North Carolina Department of Insurance Investigations Division". They can be reached at (919) 807-6840. By the way... THEY ARE HIRING 40 PEOPLE ...RIGHT NOW! (Raleigh, NC).

(10) The BEST Help for these situations may also come down to "I Know a Guy...Who Knows a Guy"...and following on with what the Angel said in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" just after the Little Girl rang that Bell on the Christmas Tree...and Clarence earned his Wings...

"No Man is a Failure... Who has Friends.."

Be curious to know what the On Line Dark Web Dialogues were that might have been coming from the Folks that Calvin was actually running against and BEATING THEM ALL AT THE TRACK often enough to either cut into their Winnings or to simply Embarrass them all.

This might seem like an arcane angle to take here... But Look at the facts and consider... His particular Race Car is a One Off that is NOT one of the Run Of The Mill "Big Three Manufactured" Vehicles that can be readily broken down, torn down and Sold for Parts at Performance Swap Meets. Why would they go to so much trouble, otherwise? Just Sayin'

It follows on that with no other leads presently panning out, as the focus and interest of the Car-Loving Community wanes on-line over time, sometimes it's worth considering "Ideas From The Fringe" that might prove telling in the end if anything develops from them and leads to solving this case.

PS... I would LOVE to get my hands on Every Single Walk-Around Video available of all the PEOPLE paying his Car even the SLIGHTEST attention during that Race..and at least his prior Three Races (to look for any people standing nearby in small groups, discussing at a distance and-or taking Pics and Videos of his Ford, his Dad's Trailer and of course the Race Car) and run them all through Criminal Facial Recognition Software... Just to see if anything *Pops* from such an inquiry. You would be surprised at how many times such necessary and often predictable, repetitive criminal behavior can reveal the presence of a Repeat Offender.

I think they just kept the truck and trailer and sank the car in a deep lake or was crushed.

I KNOW this vehicle is NOT Calvin's "Stolen Studebaker".... But when I caught this snippet of Video today, I was like, 'WUUUUUT...TF...?" just in that instant. Then I dug into the issue a little bit deeper and realized it was a Reuters News Feed on one of the latest Tropical Storms hitting Cuba.

So then I realized that since the Island is so isolated from so much in the contemporary automotive markets, their Folks have to keep all of their 1950's and 60's Vehicles running in any way they can.

THIS vehicle is one of that truly Ancient Automotive Hardware...and it gave me quite a shock to imagine that it was Calvin's Car... if only for just a moment:
