Stock headunit always reverts to EQ2 preset

This is driving me nuts. More reason to buy an aftermarket unit sooner than later.

The stock headunit (non-Bose with 6-disc changer) keeps going to EQ2 preset everytime I change the channel, turn off/on the iginition, etc. In other words, if I change the radio station by hitting a preset button, I have to reset the AutoEQ value back to custom. Every time.

Is this normal?

The EQ setting is memorized with each station preset, try setting the station and EQ as desired and then re-memorizing the preset.

That is correct.

When you get to your desired preset station, before committing that station to memory, adjust your EQ to the value you would like for that station. Then press the desired preset number to memorize it, and your problems should be gone!
