Steering Wheel Control function only supports analog signal?

Hey Guys,
Sorry for the stupid question and excuse my ignorance but my knowledge is Zero when it comes to this kinda stuff! I'm learning though During my search for a headunit I got more than one reply asking if my Trailblazer supported Analog Signal. They were saying I would need it for the steering wheel control function to work. Those units supported built in modules in which you could program your buttons accordingly.

First off, do we even have this analog signal? and what is it? Thanks!

Metra AWSC will work and has the best reviews. I just installed it too. It will work either way.
