I know where the one is under the driver's side under dash area. I believe that's SP 205. But there's apparently another one back by my BCM area. Some videos show it under a carpet flap but that seems to be for the XL models. Does my 2002 have a second splice pack in that area? If so, does anyone know where it is? Possible know as SP206? The nighmare continues.

It is under a carpet flap in the 2002 SWB models.

Rear seat under the passenger side.

I may have a picture.....

...and... FWIW... The Will Robinson's Auto Classic Tech2 and Network Diagnostics Video shows the *Whole Shebang* about how to perform Class 2 Network Diagnostics with Locating and then Taking BOTH Splice Packs Off-Line ...and then bringing back each Module using Manual Pin Probes ...One AT A Time ...While *Pinging* the Network for the presence and performance of each Module. Naturally... Having a Scan Tool with Bi-Directional Capabilities (and an Inexpensive Oscilloscope) can be essential tools for doing much of this work:

Thanks for the link Mrrsm....I've been watching those Robinson's Auto videos and they are great! I decided today to not take any more time with this electrical gremlin. It's finally a hard failure. No longer an intermittent problem so it should be easier to diagnose. I'm taking it to a GM specialty shop and let them figure it out. By the time I bought a break out box, a Tech II, and everything else to possible figure out the problem...It would cost more than getting it professionaly done. I'm a broken man right now.

I just found this video that might be useful in troubleshooting a downed class 2 with a multi meter:

This might not work for certain situations but if a module is killing the network, this looks like a viable way of finding it.

This is a good one. Thanks Mooseman. I'll give this a try before it goes off to the shop on Monday. The network is definitely down. When I plug in my OBD scanner it gets power but is not recognizing the vehicle.

If your network is not working at all you might try pulling out the connector 'comb' in SP205 and see if it will start then.

Since yours is a 2002 model there is a redundant serial data wire that bypasses the splice packs and goes directly from BCM to PCM so it may run that way even with the splice pack disconnected.

I think I have done that while testing.

Thanks TJ....I gave that a try and nothing changed. I've checked the splice packs using the voltmeter method. Unfortunately I don't have a Scan II type of device so unable to toggle things. Unfortunately, I'm throwing in the towel. It's going to an Independant GM specialty shop this Monday. The owner has been there for 35 years and has stellar reviews. I refuse to return to either of the two dealerships that I've been to over the last few years and never solved the problem.

Thank you everyone for your unwavering help with this so far. I will keep everyone posted on everything as I receive the info.
