Spark plug gap

Hi all. I know that (most) everybody recommends AC Delco 41-103's. What confuses me though (and I've seen this on several stores/sites) is that the copper and platinum plugs are gapped at .042, and the irridium plugs are gapped at .043. When the time comes, should I go with the irridium and leave them at .043?

The manual calls for 41-981's @ .042 gap. What's the advantage / difference with 41-103?

I know it applies to the I6, not sure about the v8 though. I believe the 981's were what came from the factory and have been surpassed by the 103's now.

Thank you for writing ACDelco, John.
We appreciate your e-mail regarding the spark plug for your 2002 Chevrolet
TrailBlazer. Please know the 41-965 and 41-981 spark plugs have been
discontinued.
Be aware the 41-103 Iridium spark plug is the recommended spark plug for
your vehicle. This spark plug should not be deviated from preset gap.
