NEED HELP Saturn outlook cmp sensor issue

hello fine folk of gmtnation,I have a Saturn outlook that I recently rebuilt (the last owner totally blew up the timing) and I rebuilt it, and mechanically I would say its pretty damn good. but now, the entire odd bank misfires, and the odd bank cam position sensor reads 0 rpm (according to my little obd scanner) and I have run out of ideas, I'm not great with electronics like this, anything helps, but I'm kinda broke right now

You don't mention what Year of Manufacture is involved... But there is THIS particular TSB that might give you most of the causes and suggestions on Misfire Diagnostics on the 2009 Saturn Outlook:

Not a lot of knowledge around these parts about the 3.6HF. I owned one for about a year, and got rid of it. My MIL owned one up until a few months ago, when her front bank of cylinders were doing the same thing as yours. The dealer quoted her something like $8000 to fix it. She let the bank repo it.

So yea, not a lot of knowledge.

For those that are unfamiliar with the Outlook, it's related to the Acadia and Traverse.

First thing would be to check the wiring to the affected sensor for power, ground and continuity to the PCM. Best to get a wiring diagram. Probably has it at charm.li . Also check the the proper cam gear or reluctor is installed for the sensor to pick up a signal.

As @TollKeeper mentioned, not a lot of knowledge here of this engine except it loves to stretch the timing chain.

Where in world are you? Some of us have GM level scanners (myself included).
 
If you have a Bluetooth OBD adapter (nugget?), the Car Scanner app on Android should be able to show you all that. There's also Torque that may also have that.

One possibility that you didn't mention is just a bad sensor? Try swapping the sensor from one back to another and see if the 0 RPM reading follows it. If it does, it's dead.
