Is there an easier way to remove the fuel tank pressure sensor from a 2008 4.8 Chevrolet Silverado than lift the bed and drop the tank?

Yes... Our Canadian Friend, "Randy" from his Lowbuck LS Channel on Youtube shows the best method for doing this --==without the need for using any exotic lifting equipment==-- . Start by Jacking up the Vehicle at Four positions using Four Sturdy (Pinned) Jack Stands to allow you the freedom of kneeling down while working on the top of the Fuel Tank after everything that follows on from here is properly arranged.

Then, *The Trick* involved here is to loosen the Truck Frame to Truck Bed Bolts located along the entire length of the Passenger Side of the Vehicle and then completely removing the ones along the Driver's Side. Doing this and leaving enough of the Passenger Side Truck Frame to Bed Bolts Threaded in prevents the Truck Bed from sliding completely off of the Lower Truck Frame once the Driver's Side becomes elevated.

It follows on as necessary to remove the Fasteners for the Fuel Filler Neck, Un-Plug the Bed-Side Rear Brake and Lighting Harness Connectors at the Brake Module under the Frame and of course, removing the Braided Copper Mesh Bonding Strap on the Forward Driver's Side of the Frame.

Then it is fairly easy to use a sturdy "Click & Lock" Style Pole Jack and LIFT & TILT the Truck Bed. It is important to Measure and Cut some lengths of 2" X 4" sections to prop up along the underside of the Truck Bed at Key Points to Reliably Support everything prior to working fairly comfortably and unencumbered on the Fuel Tank, the Fuel Pump, the Plastic Lines and the Sensors showing in this Video:
