Finally able to actually working on upgrading my 2008 trailblazer Lt. Looking for anyone that can get me a rear bumper with a swinging spare tire arm. It got a factory OEM bumper cover. So far haven't been in luck on finding anyone that can do the fab nor can I find a rear bumper kit. The image below is what I'm looking for. Waiting on the 17in black rhino armory rims to come in.

You might want to check on offroadtb.com the guys there may be able to point you in the right direction.

Mike there used to do kits but I'm not sure if he does now.

There wasn't any threads about fabrication from the link that you posted, so I did sent them an email. Hopefully someone will be able to help me out. The reason I am looking for the look of the photo I have posted is because I have ordered 5 black rhino armory rims (4 tires and a spare) from powerhouse wheels. They have started machining the rims on Dec 10. Even though I do have everything to protect the rim from being under the vehicle. I think it would be injustice for the spare rim to be under the trailblazer.

This intrepid FAB Dude conjured up his own design in "Blender" that has a Universal Design aspect that will be useful to DIY Welders to either make from Steel Scrap along with using some Store Bought AM Trailer Hitch, Gas Strut Tube and License Plate Holder Parts via After Market Components ...or ask a Local Welder's Shop to make one up for you ...after he watches THIS Video:

Another DIY Design...WITH... A Build Plan,,, in 3 Parts:

From what I remember, the biggest problem they had was finding somewhere on the back strong enough to mount it without it breaking the mounting area.

I believe Mike fabbed some rear bumpers with the spare tire mount, but he only did a couple because of the cost.

So basically there's no way of actually replacing the OEM bumper cover with an actual steel bumper. That sucks. I have seen the trailer hitch spare tire mounts which I don't believe is sturdy enough. That's why I was looking for someone to make a steel bumper for the trailblazer. O'well I did find a spare tire rim protector for the new rim.

It is a question of "Where is the Strongest Structural Member Located under the rear of the GMT360 Vehicles?" ...and the Trailer Hitch tends to be THAT particular point of Concentrated Strength.

I agree but with a swinging tire arm attached to the trailer hitch. I don't see it being that sturdy over a period of time. Especially since it's a 2" trailer hitch. Now maybe have it wielded to the steel reinforced bumper plate but don't know how that'll do against the bumper plate.

Ordinarily, the Swing Arm is only activated when the vehicle is parked and not gyrating under the stress of Angular Momentum as would be the case during Acceleration, Braking and when Turning Left & Right at Speed.

The other aspect is that with the Heavy Tire and Rim in the proper position... the Weight and Mass of the Tire is centered over the Trailer Hitch and therefore, not imparting any additional leveraged stress that would only be felt whenever the Swing Arm is moved away to its extreme outer position ...and then only for brief amounts of time that should not impart too much stress upon the Trailer Hitch under-carriage... ordinarily involved with towing a Heavy Boat & Trailer Combo and thus well designed to be resistant to such forces.

There is, but you'd have to either design and fab it yourself or have someone do it for you.

IIRC cost was the big issue with making the rear bumper with the tire mount. I think it was going to be around $2K or more.
