Hey all.

Yet another Power Steering hose question......

The lines on my '04 EXT are in pretty rough shape and look like they could rust through any time now.
I have done alot of reading on how one must remove the cup seal inside the port at the rack prior to installing
new aftermarket lines.

When I was looking for aftermarket lines I came across 2 types:

"Alternate Design; Remove Cup Seal Inside Port Before Installation"

"OEM Design; w/ Quick Connect Fitting at Rack"

While I know about the first type I have not been able to find any info on the second one. Does one still need to remove the Cup Seal for this quick Connect Fitting? I'm not really sure how this one gets installed or what the details are on this so-called Quick connect fitting.

here is a wild guess. the oem design is original.

the alternate design, which requires pulling a seal, is not original.

sounds like the oem design will fit without pulling the seal, and would expect the seal pulled for the alternate design to be in place.

did this make any sense?

If you are looking at changing the lines, what about the cooler? how does that look?

not sure what the actual failure history is for corrosion of these parts.
