power seat issue

the power seat on my 2005 TB will not move up or down when I try to move it I can hear the motor. The seat moves forward and backwards. there is plenty of info on how to fix a seat that dosen't move back and forth, but I can;t find anything about seats that don't move up and down

You have to take the seat out, and fix or replace the mechanical connection from the motor to the linkage for the up-down motion. Here's a pic I found. Note: I haven't done this job personally, so I can't tell you which motor is doing what job. An examination of the linkages involved is necessary.

is it just the 4 bolts that you have to remove to access it? Can I keep it powered so I can get an idea of what might be broken
