I started to notice about a month ago. Every time I go from Park to Reverse it seems to turn off the radio for that quick second. Any ideas on what it might be? I posted a video on it so you can see what I mean. Sorry for the choice in music but it was the CD that was playing.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure I can imagine a circuit problem that would do that. Is it an OEM radio, or aftermarket with an adapter? Bose?

Head units are typically only turned off by a data bus message. Unless it's an aftermarket adapter with flaky wiring.

If it's aftermarket, it could be your amp only that's cutting out. Does the head unit flash at all like its power is getting cut? Does it do it with radio as well as CD?

It's not the OEM radio actually. I got this one instead "professionally" at some local place. The faceplate doesn't turn off at all and that's what is confusing to me. I don't think switching gears can make a CD skip cause it happens when I have the SiriusXM radio on as well and that's connected by Aux and the harness.

I'm at a loss, then - and that's rare. You have a very subtle problem. I'd start by removing the head unit from the dash and inspecting very closely behind it for a pinched harness. A hard short between anything and the reverse wire should cause permanent issues, not a transient one, as I'm sure you know.

This truck is giving me so many problems! Previous owner(my brother) never took care of it lol *sigh* I'll look into it and I also got a problem with the wipers but I read a thread on it here and the guy had to change the whole motor assembly to fix the issue.

Thanks for your input. If anybody else wants to contribute feel free

Do you have a receipt which shows which adapter was used? Some adapters have a dedicated output for a reverse signal, normally used with head units with backup cameras. If we knew that it had one, we could go further. We'd also need to know the model of the head unit too.

Did you post anything about your wipers? If not, what's the problem with them?
