Does our trailblazer LT have some kind of
Amp somewhere. I installed a clarion a couple years ago with no issues.
Wife told me volume low sometimes.
The volume is still varailble but really low sounds like head phones.
It was happening sometimes. Now it's all the time.
Before tearing out the clarion just wondering if maybe a fuse or factory amp ?

If you had a factory amp you should of had to bought a special harness, and another tell tale sign is usually BOSE on audio equipment if you want to jump right in and are still unsure the amp would be under the very rear panel on the passenger side by the wheel well.

If you mean In nav tuner iPod etc. Yes.
I am thinking to pull it and
Plug the factory back in and see if it's tue clarion
I am really not in the mood to
Pull that dash apart.

pull the radio fuse and cut all power to it force a hard reset worth a try before the dash.

Are the door speakers original?

The trucks that don't have bose have a separate midrange speaker and tweeter in each front door. When the midrange speakers aren't working, and the only thing playing is the tweeters, it sounds just as you described. If you turn the bass up on the clarion, and you don't notice a change in sound in the front doors, chances are the midrange speakers aren't playing and should be replaced.

You should also test the back door speakers by turning the fader of the clarion to the rear. Many people have reported rear door speaker failure, and never noticed until the fronts stopped working.

Did the bass test no change I'm sound did the fade test no soukd from rear speakers
How cheap are the stock speakers to fail. GM must of uses the cheapest speakers they could get made.
I have never owned a vechicle where all speakers failed. Never.

Yep, the stock non bose speakers aren't that good, my friend had to change 3 of the 4 door speakers, only 1 speaker and 2 tweets were working. Maybe test with a good speaker to see if OEM's are blown before pulling dash apart...

They are literally made of paper. Sound has been my first mod in all my trucks.

exactly when I change out a head unit I replace the speakers. replaced all 4 with Kicker DS65's had to trim the speaker mount a little but they sound great. factory radio's with out Bose don't put out alot of power so hooking up an aftermarket can blow the stock speakers quickly.
