Yesterday the SES light came on so I used Torque to get the code. It was P0440 which I have researched both here and the OS and Ive got some ideas on how to fix it. My question is what does this mean?

TID:$02 CID:$50
Lean to Rich sensor threshold voltage (constant)
Min: 32,868
Current: 32,846

This info was in the "test result" section and I just need to know what all of that means.:confused:

This isn't related to the P0440. It's an oxygen sensor test.

TID = Test ID.

CID = PID? (Parameter ID) OBD-II PIDs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not 100% certain about the technical aspects of the test but fairly confident that it is an O2 sensor check. Because the only thing that provides lean and rich data to the PCM is the O2 sensor.

You can go here http://service.gm.com/gmspo/mode6/ select your year and then select engine / model . Mode 6 is a OBD2 testing mode , if you scan down to the P0440 for a 2003 it says 'Evap leak Large leak detected" The test is seeing greater than 1V on the vacuum sensor when applying vac to the tank. (tank won't hold vac or sensor is bad) The tests and setting of the DTC are different between years . Does your 03 qualify for fuel tank replacement.. Could be as simple as gas cap loose/defective. Looks like the Torque App may be confused with the mode 6 test stuff if it's listing a test 2 cid 50 as a rich/lean

Thanks guys. I don't know if torque is confused, I will play around with it and double check those parameters
