Im Leaving for the Air Force

Hey guys. Im leaving for the Air Force Sometime in january at the latest or sometime sooner. Im going in for Mechanical/Electrical but not sure exactly what job yet. Today i went to MEPS for proccessing and was sworn in. Ill keep you updated as time goes on and i find out

Any guys out there Past military or joining as well? (Any Branch)

If you guys have any suggestions/ tips / or advice for me id aprecitate it as always

I am retired now. First suggestion, begin working out now. Get in even better condition than you think you need to be in. If you are in great physical condition it will allow you to focus on all the other things you have to do. Good luck!

Nope. I served in both Army and Navy. In the Army I was Infantry. In the Navy I was an Electronics Technician.

Good Luck, Dan. I served 3 years near the end of WW2 in the U.S. Army Air Corps and another 2 years during the Korean war in the U.S. Air Force. I was an Aircraft Radio Operator Gunner on several different kinds of Bombers and Freighters.

I enjoyed every minute of those 5 years excluding the combat missions. It is an experience you will cherish the rest of your life. I am 84 years old now but have very vivid memories of my AF friends and our experiences together. I hope you have the same experience.

I agree with getting in shape. Also remember it is the DI (are they called DIs int eh AF) are there to not only get you in physical shape but mental as well. They are going to break you down and push you harder than you ever had. It is their job to do so, so that you will be able to do you job.
