HVAC problems

Alright, so I recently purchased an 02 Envoy. HVAC has a few issues. Local GMC dealer just looked at it and found that one of the temp flow doors is stuck. This causing only cold air to blow out of the driver side vents. The passenger vents change temp fine, but blow less air out compared to the driver side. The dealer quoted 950 to change the door that they believe is not letting the driver side change temp. Cost will go up if they find any other doors stuck or broke that's causing the passenger side to have less air flow. Does anyone on here have schematics of the HVAC? Is it very difficult to change these doors, or just time consuming? Any help or input would be much appreciated.

Try a search on temp actuator, you'll find lot's of info. It is a very common problem and one you can fix yourself.

Thanks. I'll try that. Just bought the door from the dealer. They actually had it in stock, so I guess it is common. Now I just need time to get it ripped apart and fixed.

When you search, you'll find it is usually the actuator motor and not the door; but, the door may be bent as well.

Yeah, when I got the part it was the actuator. They guy probably meant the door was stuck because of the actuator.

Welcome. You know there are alternate places to buy parts, especially when you're a DIY mechanic? Even the local parts stores have this sort of part available, and especially Ebay, Amazon, and Rockauto.com.
